Muay Thai Fundamentals & Fitness
Muay Thai Fundamentals & Fitness
Our Muay Thai Fundamentals & Fitness program is a month-long cycle built for people who are brand new to Muay Thai or want to clean up their basics. The goal is to help you feel comfortable with core techniques and build good habits from your very first class. You do not need any experience to start. We walk you through how to stand, move, and strike step by step so you always know what you’re working on and why.
What You’ll Learn
This program focuses on the essential tools of Muay Thai with clear, simple explanations and lots of guided reps. You will learn:
-
Jabs and crosses
How to stand, keep your guard up, and throw straight punches with balance and proper alignment. -
Hooks
How to turn your hips and shoulders so your hooks are strong, controlled, and technically correct. -
Rear kicks
How to pivot, turn your hip over, and connect with your shin while staying balanced before and after the kick. -
Switch kicks
How to switch your stance smoothly and deliver a clean kick without jumping or losing your base. -
Push kicks (teeps)
How to use front kicks to manage distance and create space, with a focus on straight, controlled mechanics. -
Knees and elbows
How to drive knees with your hips and throw basic elbows safely, staying tall, tight, and protected.
You will also get an introduction to pad work: how to hit Thai pads with good form and how to hold them safely for a partner.
How Classes Run
Every Muay Thai Fundamentals & Fitness class follows a consistent structure so you can focus on learning instead of guessing what’s next:
-
Guided warm-up
Light movement, footwork, and simple shadowboxing to find your stance, guard, and rhythm. -
Technique of the day
The coach breaks down 1–2 key techniques, shows what to focus on, and answers questions. -
Progressive drills
You start with slow, basic reps and then build into short, simple combinations as you get more comfortable. -
Partner and pad work
Controlled partner drills and beginner-friendly pad rounds so you can practice timing, distance, and clean mechanics.
We keep the intensity manageable and the emphasis on technical quality, not on going as hard or fast as possible.
Beginner-Friendly Environment
Muay Thai Fundamentals & Fitness is designed for people who want clear instruction and a supportive room, not chaos or heavy contact. You don’t need to be “in shape” or know any terminology.
You can expect:
-
Straightforward, easy-to-follow explanations
-
Coaches who give individual feedback and corrections
-
Partners who are there to learn, not to overwhelm you
You’ll always be encouraged to go at a pace that lets you stay in control and focus on form.
How You’ll Progress
Across the four weeks, you’ll see the same core techniques multiple times so they start to feel natural instead of new every class. Early on, we focus on basic shapes and positions; later, we connect them into simple combinations and introduce basic defense concepts.
By the end of the cycle, you will:
-
Have a stable stance, reliable guard, and better balance
-
Understand the correct mechanics for your main punches, kicks, knees, and elbows
-
Feel comfortable working basic pad rounds with a partner
Many students repeat Muay Thai Fundamentals & Fitness to keep sharpening their base before moving into more advanced sessions, and we’re happy to guide you on when you’re ready for that next step.
